In The Community
Our History and Aims
Coles Miller Solicitors has a long history of supporting the communities throughout Dorset. For us, being involved with the local community is something that is a natural element of our day to day working life. Whether it is visiting clients at home, supporting local businesses or working with local charitable organisations or institutions, we are in constant dialogue with the community and it is this close link that has enabled us to identify some of the key social issues that we address via our employee volunteering and charitable giving.
Where opportunities arise, employees are encouraged to get involved in supporting their community, whether it is on an individual basis or as part of a larger team. Whilst many employees are actively involved in managing community activity in each of our offices,
Overall, our aims are to:
Support the development of the people and places within our communities to help them reach their full potential
Provide support in cases of need, hardship or distress for the general benefit of the regions surrounding our offices
Provide support to vulnerable groups within our community
Coles Miller Supported the Race for Life In Bournemouth And Poole For The Third Year
Leading law firm Coles Miller Solicitors backed the battle against cancer by supporting the Race for Life in Bournemouth and Poole for the second year running and raised over £5,400 for Cancer Research UK.
We are exceptionally proud to support one of the biggest charity events on the South coast – Cancer Research UK Race for Life.
We are passionate about working together as a community. We want to make a difference to those who have been affected by cancer or know someone who has. Being part of the Race for Life is a wonderful way to show our support and raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Our colleagues walked, jogged or ran around the course. Every step participants take together will help to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Every day, around 90 people are diagnosed with cancer in the South West.

DCCI Young Chamber Programme
Coles Miller Solicitors have renewed their sponsorship with the DCCI Young Chamber Programme and Parkstone Grammar School. The Young Chamber programme has been developed to help schools and education establishments deliver high quality careers advice and guidance as well as assisting schools in meeting their statutory requirements in the local area. The programme provides real opportunities and activities to local businesses. Coles Miller Solicitors wanted to continue to support the development of crucial interpersonal skills for young people whilst offering insights into legal careers.
We spend time at Parkstone Grammar School and work with the students to achieve their goals. We take part in activities such as company visits, inspirational talks, work experience, mock interviews and careers fairs. The most important factors for the students are to work hard and the desire to succeed as well as enjoying their journey through education and work in building a career.
We place great value on our links with the community and wanted to support a school close to our Poole office.
Headway Corporate Membership
Coles Miller is proud to support Headway - the brain injury association - via our corporate membership. We are committed to helping brain injury survivors and their families receive the care and information they so vitally need following a traumatic event in their lives.
As a charity, Headway is only able to provide the information and services that it does through donations and memberships, so we are very happy to be able to support them in this way.
