Forest Holme Hospice’s Strictly Extravaganza raises a glittering £80,000

January 2025 – Forest Holme Hospice Charity’s second Strictly Extravaganza dazzled audiences at the Poole Lighthouse on Saturday 25th January. Bringing together ten brave contestants paired with professional dancers for a night of unforgettable performances, and judged by an expert panel, including 2023 winner Jason Edwards, the event was a resounding success, both on the dance floor and in fundraising efforts.

The competition saw incredible performances from all participants, including Kerry Hay, Associate Solicitor at Coles Miller for Wills and Probate - and supporter of Forest Holme Hospice. She took to the stage to perform a Viennese Waltz with professional dance partner, Adam Parry. However, the ultimate trophy went to Tom Redman, who impressed both the judges and the audience.

Colton Care were the main Corporate Sponsor of the event, and ahead of the grand evening, Bourne View Care Home hosted a glamorous launch party, where the contestants—dubbed the ‘Strictly Stars’—enjoyed a sparkling reception with canapés and bubbles. They also had the exciting opportunity to meet their fellow competitors and discover their professional partners and dance routines.

The event’s success extended beyond the dance floor, raising a staggering £80,387 - with more donations still rolling in. Kerry, who personally raised £2,525 for the charity herself, expressed her gratitude, saying:

“I wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported me in my Strictly journey! I had a fabulous night on Saturday, and I’m thrilled to see such an incredible amount raised for Forest Holme.”

Forest Holme Hospice Charity extends heartfelt thanks to all participants, supporters, and donors who made this event an overwhelming success. The funds raised will go a long way in providing vital palliative care and support to those in need.

Kirsty Perks, Corporate Fundraiser at Forest Holme Hospice Charity, said:

We want to say a heartfelt thanks to Kerry, who, along with her fellow contestants, really put in an incredible effort, both on the dancefloor and through her fundraising.  The itself event was absolutely amazing, exceeding every expectation including the fundraising total, which will help us ensure that everyone in the local community affected by a life-limiting illness or bereavement gets the care and support they need.”
